General Tips

Eye Contact

It is important to effectively use the note you took during the prep session. This can be done by finding the balance between glancing down at your notes while maintaining good eye contact with the judge.

* Remember that eye contact with your judge makes your judge feel included and makes your presentation seem more natural.

Make the first impression count

It is recommended to have a Direct, Engaging, Concise & Affectionate first impression. A smile and a firm handshake usually do the trick here.

Body Language

Try your best to avoid slouching in your chair, biting your lips, folding your arms, or fidgeting.

Appropriate body language is crucial while presenting to your judge to avoid any distractions for the judge from your presentation.

Fake it till you make it

We have all messed up in our role plays, by either contradicting a point we made earlier or stating the wrong statistics while speaking about an example. If this happens, the key is to keep going!

Keep in mind that the judge might not even catch the mistake if you continue with confidence.

Use Visuals

Providing a visual to your judges, such as a SWOT analysis or a supply and demand graph is a great way to stand out. It does not have to be detailed, but if you are able to connect a diagram or graph to your presentation, it will make it much more engaging.

The role play is your time to shine

Although you might feel your heart pounding, remember that the many hours of studying performance indicators, vocabulary and practicing the countless number of multiple-choice tests have prepared you for this moment. You got this!.
