OUR MISSION

Our mission at ACE Laurier is to develop future business leaders by encouraging them to apply their classroom knowledge and skills to real-life situations. ACE Laurier works to develop their delegates using a case-based method/training program which has become increasingly valuable in teaching students practical business skills.

OUR VISION

This year ACE Laurier is changing for the better. We are going beyond just hosting case competitions but also providing the Lazaridis community with a training hub. Each of our case competitions, regardless of size, will be getting its own personalized online or in-person training session with our delegate development team. This will set up our club members with the tools they need to succeed in our competitions but also further in their personal careers.

“I joined DECA (now ACE) in high school and was fortunate to continue my experience with the club at Laurier. As the VP of Events, I was able to have a visual impact on the club and could see my efforts come to fruition at all our events. By joining the team, I was able to surround myself with friendly and bright students at Laurier who made my experience at school incredible. DECA is one of the best run clubs on-campus and I recommend that anyone gets involved as a delegate or executive.”

“In the previous year, I upheld the role of President at DECA Laurier (now ACE). Leading the club’s executive team was one of the highlights of my undergraduate experience through building so many amazing connections and having the opportunity to expand on the club’s previous operations to incorporate philanthropy. I can really attest to the value and engagement that DECA brings to the business community at Laurier through case competitions, workshops, and social events. In my first year, I was a delegate with the organization, and I’ve always been thankful for DECA helping me find my voice as new student. Since DECA is an organization that is ran in high school, the Laurier level of the club provides a safe environment and clear pathway to getting involved for students who may be unsure of nervous about getting their foot in the door. As both an attendee and involved leader of DECA Laurier, I will always see and appreciate how much the organization has done for the Laurier community and I can’t wait to see what they bring this year as I watch from the sidelines!”

“I started out my journey with DECA Laurier (now ACE) as a delegate in my first year of the BBA program. Everyone was so supportive, and it seemed like an incredible team to be a part of. Two years later I had the privilege of taking on the role of Co-President, and I can attest to the fact that each member of DECA is driven, passionate, and truly cares about one another. If you want to improve your critical thinking & presentation skills while being surrounded by like-minded individuals, I can’t recommend DECA enough!”

“Joining DECA (now ACE) during my first year at Laurier in 2011 was the best decision I’ve ever made while in university. I’ve made some of my best friends - and believe it or not, my now wife! Looking back at when I joined back in 2011, I still use the very skills I developed, in my professional career today; interviewing skills, presentation skills, the use of business acumen, and working with people with diverse skill-sets, just to name a few. I had the distinct honour in the year 2013-14 in leading the DECA Laurier chapter as President. I realized how much I loved leadership and today I lead a team of 30 people across Canada. DECA was instrumental in growing my network, growing me as a person, and making my years at Laurier the best ever.”
